Walden House

Designed by renowned architect Annabelle Selldorf, the home is a modern work of art. It's bold yet simple presentation masterfully blends the natural environment with everyday living. Custom escutcheons, cabinetry, and hardware, and the thoughtful lighting, both natural and artificial, reflect Selldorf's genius. The terrain was meticulously planned by landscape architect Edwina Von Gal, to preserve the natural appearance and ecology of the property. Built by George Schaeffer, the contemporary exterior features locally sourced beetle-kill pine, shimmering copper shingle siding, and hand-stacked Anasazi slivers set with a deep raked mortar joint. Its exquisite form establishes a sense of harmony with its surrounding environment. Floor-to-ceiling glass wraps the living spaces, a seamless extension outdoors. You'll feel the sensation of floating on the pond's surface, surrounded by native species, including sagebrush and cattails.
