The last stop on the picturesque Hāna Highway on the northern side of Maui is Paia. Situated on a less-touristed slice of the island, on Mantokuji Bay, this slice of paradise is walkable to two internationally celebrated windsurfing spots, Ho’okipa and Spreckelsville. Haleakala National Park is only an hour drive from your door, and spectacular hiking trails are only 15 miles away at the West Maui Forest Preserve. Everything you need is close at hand on Maui; antiques in Wailuku, designer goods and fine dining in Wailea, and hole-in-the-wall seafood shacks sprinkled throughout. If laying on a white, sandy beach is more your style, you have two to choose from just outside your door.
