Hewlett Bay Park is a small, tree-lined village on Long Island's South Shore and one of the villages of the Five Towns. Together with the hamlet of Hewlett and the villages of Hewlett Harbor and Hewlett Neck, it forms the area known locally as "The Hewletts." Minutes away, the Rockaway Hunting Club in Lawrence dates to 1878 and ranks among the oldest private clubs in the country, with a par-70 links-style course that hosted the 1897 U.S. Amateur. Its grounds also offer grass and clay tennis courts, squash, and dining on an open-air porch. Dining nearby ranges from Doma Land + Sea, an upscale steak and seafood destination in Cedarhurst, to George Martin The Original in Rockville Centre and the Long Island outpost of Il Mulino New York. The Atlantic beaches and boardwalk of Long Beach and the shoreline of Jones Beach State Park are a short drive away, as is UBS Arena at Belmont Park for concerts and hockey. Shopping at Roosevelt Field and the Americana Manhasset rounds out the offerings, while JFK International Airport and the Long Island Rail Road provide easy access to Manhattan and beyond.
