We achieved more company milestones during the third quarter of 2016, including the $10.725 million sale of a rare and exclusive estate located within Hawaii’s five-star Hualalai Resort. Between July and September, we executed an impressive 20 successful auctions across 12 U.S. states (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, North Carolina, New York, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Wyoming) and in Canada.
Our top sale was a 10,472-plus-square-foot estate located steps from the unparalleled amenities of the Hualalai Club and Hualalai Resort Four Seasons Hotel on the Big Island, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. This was our 34th sale in Hawaii since our founding in 2008, achieving our highest sale price in the state to date. The auction was held in cooperation with Harold Clarke of Luxury Big Island.
We continue to dominate the $10 million-plus luxury real estate auction market — period. Our process offers a successful, alternative solution to the typical sales process, giving control, predictability, and liquidity when it comes to one-of-a-kind, incomparable estates like this Hualalai Resort estate, and the nearly two dozen others we sold during the third quarter. Ours is an efficient, transparent, and competitive method for buying and selling the world’s finest homes. Further, we are agent loyal and work in partnership with the brokerage community as an additional tool in the buying and selling of luxury property.
Other notable sales during the third quarter included Utah’s 212 White Pine Canyon Road, a brand new, modern-day manor set directly on the ski slopes of the world-class Park City Mountain Resort within Park City’s highly-coveted Colony at White Pine Canyon. Agent Paul Benson of Engel & Volkers — who has sold luxury properties with Concierge Actions in the past — claims that we created a sense of urgency in the marketplace that otherwise wouldn’t have existed.
“Every now and then in the real estate world, we run into quite unique properties that — although have very high quality — are so unique that they can be very difficult to sell,” Benson states. “In this case, I believe Concierge Auctions sped up the process by years, bringing 13 fully-qualified buyers to the table within just a few weeks. We were able to sell the property, and the seller was able to start the next chapter in her life years earlier than she would have with traditional marketing in this situation.”
We expanded our portfolio by not only selling luxury homes, but rare offerings of prime land. In August, we successfully sold Freedom Pass in Big Sky — 260 pristine Montana acres located near the renowned Big Sky Resort and the exclusive Yellowstone Club. Freedom Pass had multiple home sites that uniquely crossed both unrestricted land and a prestigious master-planned community by way of an expansive ridge.
“This was our sixth time working with Concierge Auctions, and we are thrilled with the outcome,” says Martha Johnson of Montana Living ~ Big Sky Real Estate. “The auction platform creates a sense of urgency that brings qualified buyers to the table in a defined timeframe. The winning bidder of Freedom Pass couldn’t be happier with his purchase of this exquisite piece of property and was impressed with the resources that Concierge provided and the ease of the auction process.”
In North Carolina, we partnered with Derek Rowley of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty on the August sale of Blackpoint at Linville Falls — more than 80 acres of opportunity in Pisgah National Forest, including an existing clubhouse with a pool, three luxury homes, and 37 remaining buildable lots.
“It was truly my privilege to work with Concierge Auctions to bring Blackpoint at Linville Falls to sale. Everyone on the Concierge team did a wonderful job, and I am absolutely convinced that we got the best possible result for our seller,” Rowley states. “Concierge Auctions is one of the most professional, organized, and successful companies I have had the privilege to work with in my 12-plus years in luxury real estate. The relationship I have formed with the team at Concierge over the past several years is truly that of a trusted partnership, and the luxury auction has become an integral element of my listing presentation and sales process for showcase properties.”
Further north on the East Coast, in one of Connecticut’s most coveted communities an hour northeast of New York City, we sold 157 Easton Road at the end of September. The private, 7,885-square-foot estate, set upon 2.75 acres, is located on a mature landscaped wooded oasis on the Aspetuck River in Westport’s affluent Coleytown section.
“Concierge Auctions has an innovative auction program that is both swift and effective,” says Jeff Dyment of William Raveis Real Estate. “Not only did Concierge quickly reach an audience of potential buyers at a global level, but the platform also gave our client a level of comfort knowing multiple bidders were qualified and ready on auction day.”
Also during the third quarter, we once again were named to the exclusive Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing companies for the third consecutive year. Concierge Auctions is now active in 32 U.S. states and 14 countries, and we reached the significant milestone earlier this year of achieving more than $1 billion in sales.
