HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! The Fourth of July is one of our country’s greatest holidays. It is the perfect time to gather with friends and family around a pool and a bar-b-cue pit. In my neck of the woods we head to the beach!

Top 4 Homes for a July 4th Party: 1. North Shore Kauai, Hawaii: This is a fairly arbitrary pick. I could have gone with any of the 20-plus luxury properties we have sold at auction in Hawaii. If memory serves me correctly, each of those properties has a pool and a view of the ocean, two pluses when it comes to Fourth of July homes to have a party. This luxury home in Kauai has both of these. I personally really like Kauai and this is a great property to have a Fourth of July get together on the North Shore of Kauai. In addition to the outside areas, the gourmet kitchen and great room are perfect spots to gather your crew on Independence Day.
3. Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts: Out of all the places we have conducted succesful luxury real estate auctions, Martha’s Vineyard is the place that screams Fourth of July the most. In this picture you can even see the American flag in the distance. This luxury home on Martha’s Vineyard is perfect for Fourth of July. The backyard borders one of the several coves and bays on the Vineyard, and the requisite pool is there. Perhaps you could even view the fireworks from this ocean front property, a great home to celebrate Fourth of July.
4. Darien, Connecticut: OK, so Darien, Connecticut may not be the first place you think of for having a July Fourth get together. But I could not leave this house out. It seems to be made for a holiday party. Just a short drive from New York City, it is on two acres and backs up to Scott’s Cove in Darien. The home has a private boat dock, so it is the perfect home to enjoy some time on the water with friends and family for July Fourth. After time on the water, the French-Norman style estate has multiple living areas, all with incredible water views.
