Her infectious laugh rings through the office, cracking a smile on even the most concentrated coworker. Client Services Manager Charlotte English is coming up on two years with Concierge Auctions and loving every minute of it. From her previous roles as a Marketing Coordinator, to Events Manager, to her current, Charlotte has a track record for tackling various tasks — always, with a smile on her face.
Q: Why Concierge Auctions?A: I chose Concierge because of the people. The team here is made up of incredibly-motivated people who are really “going places,” so to speak. They are constantly pushing the envelope and doing things that have never been done before. I find that very inspiring — and that’s why I love being here. We are constantly changing and bettering ourselves, and that’s what I really love about us.
Q: Tell us about your journey to Concierge. A: I graduated college in 2012 and moved to Austin because I loved the city. I worked at a real estate company in town for about a year before I heard that Concierge was moving its marketing office to Austin. I had heard many things about what the company was doing, and how its president, Laura Brady (a fellow Corpus Christian) was kicking some serious a** in the real estate world. I knew I had to send in my resume. A month or so later, I met Krystal Aeby for coffee at Starbucks, and a few weeks later, I was the newest member of the CA Marketing team. It was meant to be!
Q: Describe your dream home.A: My dream home would be a traditional, historic home that’s been restored to feel like new inside. It would be white with black shutters, on a few acres with gorgeous landscaping and gardens. Very clean lines, white walls, floor-to-ceiling windows… but total privacy from neighbors. Also, it would have lots of space to entertain outdoors and plenty of room to have lots of dinner parties.
Q: Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled to and why?A: I think that would have to be Paris. The city is just so magical — and the people there have a great sense of pride in where they live. It’s such a different way of life. Ordering a coffee to go is unheard of; Parisians sit and enjoy the moment whether it’s a five-course meal or an iced latte. And every meal is always followed by chocolate!
Q: What is the biggest adventure you’ve ever been onA: I would have to say this job. In the past year, I’ve traveled to almost 20 U.S. states — mostly by myself. It’s forced me to come out of my shell a bit and be comfortable with being alone. It’s also showed me how to relate to and befriend people with completely different personalities than me, which is something that’s new to me. There is never a dull day here — every trip I’ve been on has felt like a mini-adventure. Q: What are three things on your bucket list?A: Run a half-marathon, see the pyramids in Egypt, and ride in a hot air balloon.
Q: What is your No. 1 “Bucket List” travel destination?A: Santorini, Greece. Dying to go.
