Mike Deer has provided real estate and insurance services to ranchers and Colorado businesses for over 35 years. A Kansas native, Mike attended University of Kansas on a football scholarship and began his real estate career in a family agency started by his grandfather. Mike relocated to western Colorado from his Kansas cattle ranch and has since sold farms and ranches in both states totaling more than 100,000 acres.
An avid horseman, Mike helped bring the sport of Reining to western Colorado by assisting with the startup of the Western Slope Reining Horse Association Affiliate (WSRHA), and is past president and a current director. In addition, he is an active member and serves on the Executive Committee of the 20,000-member National Reining Horse Association (NRHA).
Active in his community, Mike has been President of the Glenwood Springs Chamber of Commerce, a member of the City Council, and a member of the Garfield County Planning and Zoning Board.
Mike and his sister have a 600-acre farm/ranch in Kansas but he has lived in western Colorado since 1980. He and his wife are small horse breeders and reining participants. They keep 6 horses, continue to show and are NRHA money earners. His passion for the western lifestyle, his education and real estate expertise allow Mike to provide exceptional service to clients. Mike represents ranch real estate in Colorado.
