I was born and raised on Kauai. My grandfather founded Sleeping Giant Realty back in 1974. At that time, the farthest thing from his mind was the thought that someday his little company would become part of Sotheby's International Realty! After getting my degree from WSU, I chose to stay on Kauai to raise my daughter within our nurturing island-style environment. At first, real estate seemed like a logical choice for me because of the flexible hours (I'm a single mom) and the fact that someday I might be able to tie it in with my dad's construction company .buying, building, and selling investment properties. At the time I started interviewing real estate companies to see where I wanted to work, Sleeping Giant was only looking for "experienced" agents. My grandfather sold the company years ago, but perhaps I was still considered a "legacy". They took a chance on me, but I think they were pleased when I sold over $4,000,000 in property in my first 6 months!
