Lawson was born and raised in Linville and graduated from Appalachian State University of 2007 with a degree in Organizational/Public Communications. Lawson has been a licensed real estate broker since March 26, 2008. Having been around the business of real estate his whole life, Lawson is pursuing his career as a professional REALTOR® at Premier Sotheby's International Realty.
