Kelly Powers is originally from Westport, Connecticut. She moved to Amelia Island with her husband, Kevin, an author, their twin daughters, Pauline & Louise, and a rambunctious German Shorthaired Pointer named Penny, hoping to provide her girls with a similar environment to the one where she grew up. Kelly holds a Bachelor's in Studio Art from Virginia Tech and a Master's in Fashion Design from Instituto Polimoda in Florence, Italy. Her time working in the fashion industry in New York, on photo shoots and fashion shows for NY Fashion Week, translates well into staging and preparing properties for the best first impression. Before her experience in fashion, Kelly spent seven years in the insurance industry, so she is very well versed in reading contracts and paying close attention to details. Kelly has a long history with older homes. Having grown up in one from 1840, renovated a mixed-use 5,000 square foot property from the early 1900s, and now living and renovating one from 1879, she is well acquainted with proactively avoiding potential pitfalls. With previous experience as a real estate investor, Kelly enjoys researching a property's potential for buyers and sellers based on zoning, density, and rental projections. As an avid supporter of the arts, Kelly enjoys "artfully uniting extraordinary homes with extraordinary lives." She works out of The Atlantic Contemporary Art Gallery and stages listings with art from the gallery. While she is not from Fernandina Beach, her experience of frequently moving in the past allows Kelly to connect with buyers from out of town because she knows how much it means to have a welcoming guide in a new area. Kelly is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, gives blood regularly, and is a Girl Scout Co-Leader for her daughter's Daisy Troop. She is a Main Street Sustainer and volunteers on the Promotions Council for the Main Street Fernandina Beach Program to support our beautiful downtown.
