Growing up in his father’s jewelry store was a great lesson in life and business. When working for a client to find that perfect ring, it’s important to know what is important to them and get to know them. The more he knew about his clients likes and dislikes the easier it was to find that perfect ring. Sometimes they ending up making a custom piece for them; if that was the case, then knowing how to make the ring or necklace was extremely important. He knew at an early age he liked helping people find that perfect piece. So much of what he learned in the jewelry business has helped him in the real estate business. Buying the ring of your dreams or buying the home of your dreams is a very emotional process, so the easier he can make it on his client, the more enjoyable the experience. So many times he’s had clients say nobody else took the time to find out their needs and wants, and the fact that he did made their day! During his time in the jewelry business he built 8 jewelry stores and business plazas, most of which are in North Alabama. One of those stores actually won “The Coolest Jewelry Store in America” award! He has also built and remodeled over 10 homes, all of which had a quality build. This has helped him in the new construction market and the commercial real estate market, understanding what it takes to take a project from design to finish product; it’s all in the details. He chose Amanda Howard Sotheby’s International Realty because of the outstanding reputation they have and their quality staff. When you hire Jay to find your dream home, land, commercial property or build the home of your dreams, you will have an exceptional experience with someone who cares about what you think and what your needs are. He prides himself on being down to earth and someone you can count on. Having spent 35 years in North Alabama helps him know where and when things are happening. He’s looking forward to serving you.
