In addition to collaborating in all aspects of running the business, she is responsible for the firm’s strategic and creative marketing efforts. Jackie is a lakefront properties specialist who still enjoys working with select clients in the purchase or sale of their home. She began her career in real estate in 2007 on the marketing and business management side, then obtained her license in 2011. Jackie’s business acumen, analytical thinking and creativity have also led her to achieve success starting and building several companies in various other industries which she ultimately sold. Her forte is creating start-ups, and through her expertise in branding, marketing, business development and operations, helping to develop a thriving business with a strong corporate culture, as she’s done with her business partner, Marsha Bettis, Managing Broker at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices | Pondera Properties.
Jackie is a member of the Luxury Home Marketing Institute and holds the Accredited Buyer’s Representation designation and the ePro certification. Originally from Southern California, Jackie lived in New Mexico for 25 years before she and her husband decided on Texas as their retirement destination. As boating lovers, they bought a summer home in Gaines Bend at Possum Kingdom, and ultimately moved there full time after rebuilding the original cabin into a permanent full-time residence. Jackie loves the fact that she’s surrounded by water, and that her children, grandchildren and friends frequently vacation with them at Possum Kingdom Lake.
A caring and active member of her community, Jackie has been active on the Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors where she served as president for three years. She is involved in the Gaines Bend Property Owner’s Association and is a big advocate of the Possum Kingdom Lake Association where she also volunteers her time. In April 2011 when the lake area was hit with devastating wildfires, Jackie started the “PK Fire Blog” to communicate with area homeowners – noted by the Associated Press and the American Red Cross as the first informational vehicle of its kind for a U.S. community in crisis.
Jackie and her husband, Mert, reside in Gaines Bend on Possum Kingdom’s south end. The couple have four children and three grandchildren.
