Darlene’s client-centric philosophy and always going the extra mile are the defining principles of her success in high-end resort property brokerage. Darlene’s real estate career spans over 30 years in sales, brokerage and executive broker management. She entered the business in 1985 and became a partner in Associate Brokers of Sun Valley (ABSV) in 1992, and the Company’s broker in 2000. In 2005, Darlene was instrumental in the sale of ABSV to Cendent Corporation, a Fortune 100 Company, operating as Sotheby’s International Realty (SIR). She led the Sun Valley operations as Vice President and Managing Broker until the Company was purchased by John Huntsman and became Sun Valley Sotheby’s International Realty in 2010. She continued the leadership role as VP and Designated Broker till the end of Huntsman’s ownership at the end of 2015, and was also engaged as a business resource within the greater Sotheby’s organization during that time.Darlene’s first-hand experience in Sun Valley’s growth and market trends has proven to be an invaluable asset. Darlene is excited to join the Engel & Völkers Sun Valley team. She believes this is where she can serve her clients' best interest in today's market. Over 75% of her clients have worked with her in multiple transactions throughout the years and clearly rely on her insight and extensive expertise when it comes to acquiring properties as well as passing them on. Darlene and her family appreciate Sun Valley’s natural beauty, its people, and all it has to offer for a stimulating year-round lifestyle, and she is committed to give back to the community that has given her so much. She has served on the Community Library Board of Directors, was a founding member of the St. Luke’s Hospital Pet Therapy Program, and active in Hemingway School’s dog reading program. She is an active supporter of Girls on the Run, the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley and a variety of causes supporting the wellness of people and animals. Darlene is also a very active member of Sun Valley’s sport and fitness community. Darlene is a La Jolla, California native and a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara.
