As an agent in the Hudson Valley, my story starts like so many do: I bought a weekend place here (in Ghent, with the help of a buyer's agent from this very brokerage) to escape the rigors of city life and the stress of my demanding career in fashion design. The beauty and dramatic landscapes drew me in, but that wasn't even the real magic of this region - for me it is the people and their deep appreciation for the land and the old farmsteads, and how the region mixes rural and artistry. We have amazing local growers, craftspeople, and makers along side of art galleries and some of the best restaurants in the country, not to mention millions of acre of conservation land, state parks, and national parks on our doorstep.
