With more West Marin sales than any other agent in the last 30 years, including more sales in Nicasio than any other agent ever, B.G. Bates excels in representing buyers and sellers of country and seaside homes, ranches, and land. Consistently recognized as a top agent in her career, B.G. represents all price points and all areas of Marin and southern Sonoma counties, with a focus on the bucolic regions. Her extensive knowledge about her marketplace is grounded in an early journalism career as reporter-then-editor of the Pulitzer-prize winning Point Reyes Light weekly newspaper. Covering local news exclusively, B.G. reported the development of the land use plan that currently protects West Marin’s unique area and lifestyle. She translated her experience into a real estate career that soon had her branded as the West Marin expert with connections throughout the Bay Area and beyond. B.G. offers an extra level of knowledge and understanding of country properties, and the complexities of owning them. She has a hands-on approach and often hikes large acreage, and personally attends property inspections, for thorough comprehension to best represent her clients. Besides written journalism, B.G. also broadcasted nightly news at a small market radio station in Sonoma where she additionally anchored her own midday show. In a separate career, she crewed for an international airline. Born and raised in the Midwest on a country property where her love of raising horses and dogs became her passion, B.G. moved directly to rural Marin County after graduating magna cum laude from an east coast university. She built her own home on acreage in Bolinas where she raised her son and where she still resides. As a 48-year resident, B.G. serves on local boards and was honored to serve as the first agent to represent the affordable housing group in Bolinas in purchases of two properties, which became national models. B.G. is dedicated to her community and continues to be a known resource with a unique and knowledgeable perspective on all aspects of West Marin. | California: License #00968254; [Golden Gate Sotheby's International Realty](https://www.sothebysrealty.com/eng/office/180-b-4208-4001190/golden-gate-sothebys-international-realty)
