Concierge Auctions Sells Waikoloa Beach Resort Residence at Auction in Waikoloa, Hawaii
WAIKOLOA, HI – March 22, 2010 – Concierge Auctions announces the successful auction of a luxury Waikoloa Beach Resort residence with 150 feet of secluded beach front located at 69-1065 Kolea Kai Circle. The sale was conducted in cooperation with Century 21 All Islands.

Concierge Auctions’ extensive global outreach produced an impressive 50+ showings and 11 bidders from Canada, California, Kansas, Minnesota and Hawaii. The precisely-controlled campaign of internet, print and direct marketing, combined with aggressive sales efforts, broker outreach, and public relations, generated more than 4,600 visits to the auction website from all US states and 58 international countries (led by Canada, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom).

“I appreciate the efforts of both the Concierge Auctions and Century 21 All Islands teams towards making this auction a success,” stated Dr. Harry White, seller of 69-1065 Kolea Kai Circle. “The interest generated was phenomenal, and more prospects viewed the home in four weeks than had in the entire two years prior. I am thankful to everyone involved and hopeful that the home will bring much happiness to its new owners.”

Amenities of the 1,350-acre Waikoloa Beach Resort include ocean sports activities, a classic Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course and a links-style course designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, preserved cultural sites, world-class hotels such as the Hilton Waikoloa Village and the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, and the famed Kings Shops and Queens Marketplace. The resort is located approximately 25 miles north of Kona on the Big Island’s sunny Kohala Coast, which means “cherished land” in Hawaiian, and enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Embraced by the balmy, sweet-scented Pacific Ocean trade winds, Kona is famous for sport fishing, snorkeling, gorgeous sunsets and its unrivaled Kona coffee.

“Concierge Auctions has found great success with luxury property auctions throughout Hawaii, and we are pleased to have accomplished our first sale in the Waikoloa Beach Resort,” stated Laura Brady, VP of Marketing for Concierge Auctions. “This sale marks over $55 million in Hawaiian properties sold, including properties in other exclusive communities on the Big Island, such as the Hualalai Resort, home to the Four Seasons Hualalai, where we sold Cher’s residence for $8.72 million, and Kuki’o, where last year alone we sold five premier properties, and over ten premier properties on Kauai. We execute auctions in premier locations nationwide, but our platform lends itself particularly well to resort destinations such as Hawaii. We are able to aggregate interest even from buyers who are not on-Island, and we allow them to participate in our auctions over the Internet or telephone. We have other amazing Hawaiian opportunities on the horizon. Be the first to hear about them by registering for our newsletter on ConciergeAuctions.com.”

A Fusion of Indoor / Outdoor Lifestyle
After a day exploring the island, come home to your beach front resort along Kolea Kai Circle. Effortlessly fusing an indoor/outdoor lifestyle with architectural flair, the home's design highlights the best of casual island living without losing the privacy one expects in a luxury estate.

A dramatic courtyard entryway is the first signal that this residence is built for the royal treatment - two clear reflecting pools flank a lighted floating dolphin fountain just beyond the estate's substantial wooden gate. Attention to melding outdoor and indoor space is apparent at every turn - nooks within the stately courtyard are actually turned into patios for the home's private bedroom suites. Ample open living spaces in the nearly 6,000-square-foot residence give way to a covered lanai and poolside cabana. Custom, tropical landscaping and tiki torches underscore the Big Island Lifestyle and  highlight natural beauty along the 34,000-square-foot lot, and gated access offers enjoyment of 150 feet of secluded beach front.

Smart Features
The home boasts remarkable smart home features, offering the ultimate in ease for entertainment, including top-quality audio and visual equipment, Creston lighting and audio systems throughout the residence, as well as a wired security system and high-speed internet access. When it's on-screen drama you're looking for, a state-of-the-art media room brings action to life with surround-sound via Klipsch speakers.

Interior Layout
While the private living quarters are well defined throughout the home, the marble floors in the open gathering areas let one room breathe into another, hinting that the casual Hawaiian lifestyle is meant to be enjoyed together.

Designed by Bona Designs, experts in creating homes to take best advantage of beach front vistas and the unique Hawaiian climate, the Kolea Kai estate is a model for blending indoor function with the beautiful form of the outdoors. Diverse materials indoors and out - lava stone, sandy marble, granite and rich woods - add to the home's complex feel and reflect nature's bounty, and the glass doors and windows of nearly every room frame perfect pictures of the seemingly neverending lush foliage and deep blue waters.

Indoor and Outdoor Living
Doors seem almost a formality at this beach front estate, with full custom-designed entry and sliding glass providing a flood of natural light. Polished soft-colored marble tile in the grand living space echoes the sand at the shoreline, while an incredible vaulted ceiling, accented with African mahogany paneling, provides awesome height and dimension. An indoor wet bar features Sub-Zero wine storage, and the spacious design allows for a combined dining area, so no one misses any action.

The new owners of this magnificent residence won't have a hard time deciding whether to relax on the spread of indoor seating or the patio-style outdoor furniture. The home's lanai, a uniquely Hawaiian covered, open-air veranda, provides the perfect gateway from the modern main indoor living room to the home's manicured outdoor entertainment destination. One of the most quintessential elements of the Hawaiian way of life, the lanai is a celebration of family and friends and serves a greater purpose than a perfect escape from the sun's rays. The marble flooring continues to this space, which envelops the back of the home. Eight-foot, Zero-Corner pocket doors can be pulled across to cordon off as much or as little of the space as you'd like.

A natural lava rock privacy wall enhances the outdoor oasis. Relax after a long day of shopping or rousing round of golf by sinking into the soaking spa, which bubbles over via a river fall feature to the custom-designed, 50-foot swimming pool. Whether manning the grill in the poolside outdoor cabana kitchen, or taking advantage of the sun-warmed pool for early-morning laps, residents will find the yard's unique features completely designed for them. When the shoreline beckons, answer the call by wandering through the gated walkway to estate's secluded stretch of 150 feet of Pacific Ocean beach front. Inspect the naturally occurring lava rock along the way, or dive right into the turquoise waters.

Gourmet Kitchen
While outdoor cooking can be fun, the at-home chef will delight in the open-style gourmet kitchen accessed off the main living room. An expanse of granite countertops offers plenty of workspace in an abundance of natural light. Beautiful stainless steel perfectly complements the African mahogany cabinetry, custom-built to take advantage of the space. Modern hardware throughout exudes a sleek, functional elegance. Bar-style seating at the island means the cook won't miss a minute of conversation.

Master Suite
Easy elegance abounds in the master bedroom, a nod to the island's breezy but private nature. Brazilian cherry wood flooring coordinates masterfully with the accent paneling throughout the room. Access to the covered lanai and beyond offers a breath of fresh air - simply open the room's eight-foot-tall, Zero-Corner pocket doors or pull back a light curtain for instant breathtaking Pacific views. A custom-built, four-post natural bed highlights the room's streamlined design.

The artfully designed master bathroom sacrifices nothing to preserve clean lines. A custom marble walkthrough shower features glass block to allow natural light, while leading to a Whirlpool jetted tub through glass doors. Separate his and hers sinks are nestled into beautiful wood cabinetry that, when paired with modern hardware and lighting, transforms the bathroom to a personal spa. A private outdoor shower completes the island experience.

Guest Suites
Visitors staying in any of the home's three guest suites get the royal treatment in their private quarters, each designed with the same attention to detail as the rest of the home. Spacious rooms each have access to an outdoor patio and showers while sparing no sense of privacy to the occupant. Floor-to-ceiling closets and unfettered natural light make the space inviting and functional - the ideal place to start and end an island day. En-suite bathrooms feature marble flooring and granite countertops, as well as stand-up showers. While each suite is unique in its identity, they all share an important quality - attention to a top-quality, luxurious island experience

About Kona, HI
Kona, which means "leeward" in Hawaiian, for its location along the sunny west coast of Hawaii's Big Island, enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Warm all year round and embraced by balmy, sweet-scented Pacific Ocean trade winds, Kona is famous for sportfishing, snorkeling, gorgeous sunsets and its inimitable Kona coffee.

Established by King Kamehameha I in the early 1800s to be his seat of government and the capital of the Kingdom of Hawai'i, Kona functioned for decades as a retreat of the Hawaiian royal family. Until the late 1900's, Kailua-Kona was primarily a fishing village. Although the region has recently seen an increase in development
and tourism, it maintains vast open areas and natural tropical landscape.

About the Waikoloa Beach Resort
Whether seeing humpback whales play in crystal clear waters while you tee off thrills you or lazily browsing top brands while enjoying perfect year-round climate brings you peace, the Waikola Beach Resort was designed with "destination" in mind.

Situated along the Kohala coast of Hawaii's largest island, it's easy to see why this 1,350-acre oceanside resort draws global attention anytime of the year. Stunning Pacific views from any point on the resort's lush property provide a sense of peace - warm bay breezes grace your skin, while you enjoy the countless rich amenities.

At its peak, the people of Anaeho'omalu Bay were best known for their thriving aquaculture. Nowhere is this more evident than in the ponds that grace the area. The Ku'uali'i and Kahapapa ponds once were carefully tended by ohana (family groups) who passed down the practices for generations and often transported the best fish to the island's royalty. Now, it's resort visitors who are treated like kings and queens when they stroll the well-marked paths along the ponds. A trail off Naupaka Kai Place between the Kolea complex and the Hilton Waikoloa Village provides an easy hike around a portion of the Waikoloa Anchialine Pond Preservation Area, a series of lava pools fed by freshwater springs and the ocean through the lava fissures. As you explore, you'll find historic petroglyphs - centuries old stone carvings depicting island culture - hidden all along the trails and throughout the resort.

The world melts away while lying along the 900-foot granular, salt-and-pepper sandy beach along Aneho'omalu Bay, the hypnotic shoreline sounds a recurring soundtrack. This recreation area is ripe for the lounger or the water sport enthusiast and is a perfect launch point for swimming, surfing, kayaking and snorkeling.

The Resort's two green island gems are its breathtaking golf courses with spectacular vistas. Designed for the competitive drive - literally - the Robert Trent Jones Jr. course's seventh hole, a 502-yard par-five, is a must-play for anyone who loves the sport (or a beautiful view). Settled along a rocky point over the breakers, it provides a perfect vantage to spot humpback whales and is known throughout the islands as the most spectacular oceanfront par-five in Hawaii. After mastering this beautiful course, take the short trip to the links-style Kings' Golf Course, designed by former British Open Champion Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. Beautiful fairways along this 7,000-yard course meander over and around an ancient lava flow, providing opportunities for the long driver or precision specialist. It's Scotland on the Big Island, right down to the food and drink offered along the course.

World-class doesn't end at the 18th hole. A stroll through the recently upgraded Hilton Waikoloa Village at the resort's northmost point revealstropical gardens, cascading waterfalls and tranquil waterways before encountering the luxurious Kahala full-service spa and a number of restaurants specializing in international cuisine.

When it's time to unwind, there's no better place on the island than the Kings' Shops and the Queens' Marketplace. Who wouldn't feel like royalty shopping in open-air, walkable shopping arenas, enveloped by warm, balmy Hawaiian breezes?

Boasting top-quality designers including Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton and Coach, the Kings' Shops offer 75,000 square feet of dining, high-end boutiques and entertainment. Meandering water features and plaques highlighting Hawaii's queens guide Queen's Marketplace visitors through the many eclectic shops and dining options. At the edge lies a lush tropical landscape with sloped grass seating at the Waikoloa Bowl - a hot spot for film and stage productions under Hawaii's starry skies.
